A Study On The Influencing Factors And Countermeasures Of Tennis Stadiums’ Operation In Xi’an

With China’s rapid economic development and the improvement of the Chinesepeople’s living standards and incomes, more and more people began to focus onphysical exercise. Therefore a variety of sports have entered into people’s lives. As anelegant movement recently emerging in China, tennis has been accepted by muchmore people. At the same time, it is booming in Xi’an which is the largest city innorthwest China. Tennis possesses highly social and economic values in the world,and it is likely to become one of the most potential commercialized sports in China.However, in the research, the author finds that most profit tennis stadiums exist thefollowing problems: there are few people in the stadiums, management mode andoperation mechanism of tennis stadium is relatively simple, some stadiums cannot beself-sufficient and self-contained, and even some losses year after year. The thesismakes profound rearch on the tennis stadium operation from the perspectives of sportseconomics, sports management, and sports marketing, which applies the method ofliterature review, mathematical statistics, expert interview, comparison and inductionand questionnaire survey. From these efforts, the author finds that tennis stadiums inXi’an feature seriously inadequate supply and uneven distribution, and most stadiummanagers and related staffs are not professional. Finally the author summarizes theoperation mechanism and management mode of tennis stadiums in Xi’an. Thebackward of the operation mechanism is not conducive to tennis stadiums’management. Tennis venues in the city of Xi’an doesn’t posses advaned operationmechanism. Most venues rely on the management of schools or other institutions,while the managers here are not aware of operation mechanism. Telephone bookingsite is the only sale’s mode of Xi’an tennis stadiums, which is quite far behind thecurrent development level and other venues operation mechanism. This kind of sale’smode losts a considerable clients, because the service type is relatively single,resulting in the waste of resources and the low utilization of stadiums. In the presentrapid economic development of social situation, tennis is no longer reachless highconsumption and there are more and more people involved in this sport. However,tennis is a technical sport that needs some profesional skills, so that some consumersare easy to lose interests in tennis due to technology troubles, health, fitness whenthey first contact with it. Therefore how to cultivate people’s interest in tennis is areal matter which needs tennis stadium operators to consider. Focusing on theeconomic benefits, some tennis courts managers neglects its social benefits. It has also become one of the reasons that a part of tennis stadiums doesn’t manage well in thecity of Xi’an. Through the analysis of complex problems and current operationmechanism of tennis stadiums in the Xi’an, the author believes that the importantway to accelerate the development of city tennis stadiums’ operation sustainability ofXi’an is only to break the normal procedure, to draw advanced facilities operationconcept from domestic and foreign other cities, to explore for the tennis courtsoperation mechanism and operation mode of development, and to focus on thecultivation of sports business management talents.
