Since the Chinese government proposed to build a harmonious society, in themoral value system, the university teacher-student relationship should have what kind ofcode of conduct has been a hot topic in the field of political and ideological education.Some people advocate to restore the Confucian culture tradition of absolute authority ofthe teacher, students maintain the awe of the teacher, so the teacher maintain a sacredsense to teach; Some people advocate the introduction of Western appreciation ofeducation, teacher take care of college students as minors to prevent emergencies; Stillothers advocated industrialization of higher education, students as customers purchaseeducational services, the teacher is the provider of educational services, is fair trade themain relationship, the relationship between the pursuit of management efficiency ofoperators and the customers enjoy God type services.This paper proposes the Chinese university teacher-student relationship should be arelationship of equality, democracy and cooperation by the analysis of the moral valuesystem of the current study. In this train of thought, the paper analyzes the five issues;first, it can succeed that we want establish a harmonious society. Second, what is theharmonious society’s moral value system? Third, what are problems in the universityteacher-student relationship from the view of moral system? Forth, what shouldinclude in the university teacher-student relationship? At last, whether the newuniversity teacher-student relationship is compatible with international mainstreamvalue system and how does the new university teacher-student relationship guidelinesexpand among the social relationships. The specific study concluded that:First, currently factors affecting harmonious social are not insurmountable factorsin the current social patterns. Definite conclusions can be drawn by the method ofanalysis of the ideological and political theory, namely social development issues willbe gradually eased and evolution with the changes in the development of the strugglebetween the various classes, which are the objective laws that will not change by a smallnumber of people.Second, the drawbacks of the Chinese culture are Confucian culture drawbacks.The Confucian culture hinders the smooth exchange of teachers and students in China,lures Chinese officials bring up in cliques, makes inequality relations between Chineseofficials and the public, causes apathy relationship between the Chinese citizen, triggerstension between Chinese families, promotes China’s foreign relations are relatively isolated. International mainstream moral value system is Christian culture; it dominatedthe international moral relations, cultural relations, social relations, economic relationsand political relations.Third, China to build a harmonious society moral value system should include: theoutstanding heritage of Confucian culture, the collectivism and serve the people of themoral system of the communist, equality and democracy of Western culture. It shouldhave five characteristics: historic, national character, inclusive, development andinnovation such. The core content of the news university teachers-students relationshipin China should be equality, democracy and cooperation.Forth, there are some problems on the university teacher-student relationship:teacher-student relationship exists only on class, the teacher-student relationship is moreand more indifferent, there are market trading behaviors between teacher and student,Teachers and students are mutual contempt and hostility, teachers and students lackspecialized academic discussion. The moral cause of these problems are: the socialistsystem to combat the Confucian culture, traditional Confucian culture to be impacted bythe Western values, there is not a new moral value system in line with the requirementsof the times.At last, under the harmonious social and moral value system the new universitystudent relationship will not only help to promote the harmonious campus, but alsoconducive to China’s social relationships and recycling. Because the relationship ofequality, democracy and cooperation that is between the new type of university teachersand students relationship can also extend to the friends.Based on the time constraints and the limited data, this study focuses on thetheoretical analysis, the lack of research on the social practice, collection and analysis ofrelevant data on the comparative study of Chinese and foreign student relationship is notfully, therefore, further research direction in the future is to analyze on current researchshortfall.
