After the founding of new China, our country made hugeliteracy movement. Shanxi Province rural literacymovement from1950to1956is the result of the externaldrive of the national literacy momentum and the inherentrequirements of its rural construction. Its development notonly has its own characteristics, but also is a epitome of thedevelopment of the national literacy campaign in50’s. Literacy campaign at the beginning of new China,is thebroad masses of peasants in the political turn, economyturn, is once again the“cultural turn”. First the party andthe government took measures from the organization andmanagement to strengthen the leadership of literacy work:On the one hand, established leadership mechanism that isfrom the central area to local places; on the other hand,utilized propaganda and mobilization mode by the variousforms in order to mobilize the masses and teachers.Afterthe body of the literacy was started up, the object of theliteracy namely: the content of literacy learning and form of literacy teaching. It also adopted a flexible way, It was notonly make learning combined closely with production, butadhered to the on-going learning."Difference because ofthe different person in different time" this is thecharacteristic of the literacy campaign.At the same time,because of the limitation of the environment and conditionsof the society. In the literacy movement, there existed somefactors affecting the development of sports, including bothhuman factors such as the unreasonable literacy movementplan and objective factors such as low teachers’ culturallevel. however, the literacy at the beginning of the foundingof the movement made great achievements: On the culture it changed the backwardness of the peasants andinappropriate habits、 ideas that exists in the mind offarmers had some change,on this basis it provided animportant condition for agriculture modernization and madea profound impact on all aspects of social life in thecountryside. The results and insufficient of Literacymovement give the current literacy and school education adeep lesson: in under the premise of adaptive learningcontent and social needs, being aware of the long-termeducation, rather than trying to use administrativecommand to make the rural education development likespoil things by excessive enthusiasm like, only this China’s rural education can have a better future.
