Research On The Long-term Care For Elderly Population In Jiangxi Province

Jiangxi province came into aging society in 2005. The aging of population will bring some problems, such as the elderly care problem. The body of old people is in the aging process, body function abates and is not so healthy, which easily lead to loss, the life cannot provide for oneself. The 2004 national population sampling data shows, the proportion of who cannot provide for oneself is 7.3% in Jiangxi province in 2004, the number of which is approximately 0.334 million.Elderly people daily life cannot provide for oneself, not only the family need to pay large medical care personnel and arrangement, but also brings great pressure. For society, the increase of eldly people who cannot care for themselves is a test for medical and health, medical endowment facilities and care personnel and other resources. If the problem cannot be dealed with properly, which could cause social unrest, bring a series of social risks. In recent years, the elderly population size of Jiangxi province gradually increasing, the eldly in the age structure comes more and more, the number of old people who cannot care for themselves increases gradually, so dealing with old people long-term care problem properly in Jiangxi province has strong practical significance.Through the survey research and literature summary, the elderly population of Jiangxi province in long-term care of supply and demand was analyzed, we found the existing problems. According to the positive social welfare thoughts of Giddens, we referenced the experience of long-term care for the elderly population in Japan and the United States, and we put forward three ideas to develop long-term care of elderly population of Jiangxi province: one is prevention, Second is the attention to the family and the community, Three is the government intervention. After verification the possibility and necessity of the three ideas, the paper proposed six countermeasures for the problem of the elderly population in long-term care of Jiangxi province: promulgating policy relevant on long-term care, integrating resources about long-term care for elderly people, enriching service of long-term care for elderly people, accelerating the construction of community care platform for long-term care, strengthening personnel training for long-term care and developing the industry of long-term care for elderly.
