This paper aims at applying Activity Theory and related theories to oral Englishteaching in junior middle school and attempting to change the inefficiency of oralEnglish teaching from the perspective of the effects of activities during oral Englishteaching.There are two research questions in this paper. The first one is that whetherapplying Activity Theory to oral English teaching in junior middle school can betterstudents’ emotional attitude. And the second one is that whether applying ActivityTheory to oral English teaching in junior middle school can improve students’ oralEnglish and their comprehensive abilities of using English.Two different teaching models are used in experiment class and control class,and after one semester’s study, the writer analyzes the data collected from the study.The results show that applying Activity Theory to oral English teaching in juniormiddle school can not only improve students’ oral abilities and comprehensiveabilities, but also can better students’ oral English learning attitudes.
