Recently, early reading has been paid more and more attention. In2001,the Ministry ofEducation issued “Kindergarten Education Guidelines(Trial)”,which is the first file to putforward explicitly that early reading is a part of language domain in preschool education, andpropose to guide young children to read outstanding children’s literature works in order toarouse their interests in reading. Thus, as the important material for early reading, picture bookis introduced to kindergarten, which has become a hot topic for preschool education. But, theemerging picture book instruction in kindergarten, is at the stage of exploration. What’s more,the research on picture book instruction in theory and practice is still a weak link. The teachershave already become one of the key factors for the application of picture book instruction, andcontinuous development of picture book teaching calls for high-quality teachers.Through interviews and observation, the research investigated picture book reading inseveral kindergartens in Jinan. The thesis consists of three parts:Part one: According to the analysis of the practical experience and the observation of someexcellent teachers’ open classes of the researcher herself, found that kindergarten picture booksteaching in Jinan City had a lot of problems and dislocation of the teachers’ role.Part two: Through interviews on some of preschool teachers and observation of everydaylife and learning, the researcher elaborated the reasons that lead to the dislocation of theteachers’ role in kindergarten picture books teaching:(1)self-factors related teachers limit theirprofessional development;(2)the management system of kindergarten is not reasonable,hindering the development picture books teaching;(3)inappropriate expectations of parents andmisunderstanding of preschool teachers and early childhood education.Part three: Through the analysis of the teachers’ role misplaced, the author repositioned therole of teachers in the picture book teaching, from four aspects, which was consist of selectingthe picture books, determining the goals of teaching, organizing the teaching practice andreflecting on the teaching process. End result: in the stage of selecting the picture book, the teacher is the screener of outstanding picture books, the forerunner of interpreting picture books;in determining the teaching objective, the teacher is the leader to make children love reading,the host of grasping the goal and direction; in the process of organizing teaching practice, theteacher is the creator of teaching situation, the guider of teaching activities, and the clever userof multimedia courseware; after the end of teaching activities, the teacher is the reflectivethinker of teaching practice, the researcher of teaching activities.
