Educators and psychologists’ studies have shown that early readingplays an important role on the children’ s life. The content of KindergartenEducation Guidelines(Trials) in language field propose to guide youngchildren to read outstanding children ‘s literature works in order to arousetheir interests in reading and writing. As the good material for early reading,picture book is increasingly favored by the kindergarten teachers that due tothe promotion of the experts and scholars in recent years. In this paper, I tryto understand and analysis the real situation by surveying the teaching ofyoung children picture book reading of Qiqihar, and propose the educationproposal to improve the teaching instructional strategies of preschoolteachers. The final destination is promoting the development of the earlychildhood’s reading ability.The study used a combination of quantitative and qualitative researchmethods. First of all, I collect the data of the general situation about theteaching of kindergarten picture book reading of Qiqihar by questionnairesand interviews method. This part mainly involves preschool teachers’ ideasand practice about the teaching of picture books, besides the information ofthe kindergarten’s idea of the teaching of picture book reading and theimplement of educational policy. In addition, to understand the experts’comprehend and suggestion of the picture book teaching by interview;Secondly, there are two way, entering kindergarten to observe the collectiveactivities of teaching and watching the audio-visual of the excellent teaching,by which I can record continuously the specific situation ofpicture-book-teaching collecting by the observation. Third, using thegathered information above, I analysis the status of the teaching ofkindergarten picture book reading of Qiqihar; Fourth, according to the findings and analysis, I try to raise feasible countermeasures for theproblems that exists in the current situation of the teaching of youngchildren picture book reading to improve the level of reading inkindergarten.
