Hierarchical teaching is a practical choice for school education due to the differences in thestudents’ development. The purpose of Hierarchical teaching is to help the students at differentlevels take their own initiatives to study by using different teaching methods. Hierarchicalteaching is a hot topic in modern education and its value has been proved in many teachingexperiments. However, difficulties and problems still exists as to how to divide the students intodifferent levels and how each level is defined. In this thesis we mainly focus on the hierarchical teaching experiments in the computerlessons of Qingdao tourism school.First we study the history of hierarchical teaching at home and broad and discuss why it isnecessary in secondary vocational school.Second, we analyze the concept and content of hierarchical teaching so as to obtain thetheory basis for the hierarchical teaching practice. At last, we choose two Cabin Service Classes in the school for our trial hierarchicalteaching practice. According to our practice, the merits of hierarchical teaching are muchgreater than its deficiencies. Hierarchical teaching can satisfy the demands of students atdifferent levels, stimulate their interests, improve their academic performance, etc. however, theproblems of hierarchical teaching remain to be solved: the top students have to take morepressure; the students at low-levels lack shining examples which may reduce their motivationand affect their confidence.
