With the in-depth development of reform and opening up, a large number of ruralpeople flock to urban. From the beginning of21stcentury, the population of rural-urbanmigration transforms from individual to family. With this change, a large number ofmigrant workers’ children come to the city following their parents. Along with theacceleration of the process of China’s urbanization, the problem of migrant children havereceived extensive attention from all sectors of society. The problem of migrant childrenagainst the principle of social justice and highlight the social contradictions anddisharmony. Increasing social support is conductive to meet the needs of migrant childrenand promote the realization of social justice. Social work plays an important role in solvingthe problems of migrant children, to enhance their ability to adapt and promote thephysical and mental health.This thesis takes “Fangxueba” project in Huaqiao New Home Life Service Center asan example, and the investigation object are the migrant children and families participatingin the activities. By means of questionnaire, interview, observation and other forms, weunderstand the social support’s present situation of the migrant children and their demandsituation, using them as the basis for designing migrant children’s services programs. In thecourse of the operation of the “Fangxueba” project, social workers play a key role, andtheir intervention increase migrant children’s social support. At the same time, the projectalso has some problems in operation, and need to further improve the operation of theproject from the six aspects: social worker, the institution, government, community, familyand school.
