The Reconstruction On The Role Of College Teacher In The Context Of Academy Institution

Academy Institution is lately emerged in mainland of China and is in desperate need of theoretical debate and guidance.The Academy Institution is people-oriented.The ultimately purpose of the Academy Institution is educating people.In view of above, based on the Role Theory of Process,In this study,the discussion on the role of college teacher is expanded around the working condition of the teacher in Academy Institution from the view of teacher-student interaction and relationship, that is to say, what role would be played when teacher is encounter with student.Tracing back to the history, investigating the reality are the ways to summarize the role of College teachers.Through sorting out the two sources of Academy Institution, this study would select Chinese traditional Academy in Song Dynasty, University of Cambridge, Zhu Xi, Russell as example, to summed up the historical connotations of teacher’s roles,such as Believer of Benefiting People,Moral Practitioner,Subject Specialists,Doers,Erudite Scholar,Human Dignity Respecter,Friend,Tolerant Debater,Critic,Inspiration with Independent Thinking.The influence factors on the role of teachers are institutional factors, ways of communication between teachers and students,living environment, culture, the common ideas of The East and West on teaching and values.With investigation visits of the undergraduate Academy of Xi’an Jiaotong University, this study would analyze the practical needs of the students,summed up the roles such as Morality Manager, Schoolwork Planner, Study Guarantee.Combining these two aspects of the researches, this study would reconstruct the role of college teacher and propose the countermeasures to solve Chinese college problems.This study is dedicated to helping college teacher relocating his roles for offering better guidance to the students.
