Starting from "five strict requirements" and new curriculum concept, based on thesituation of the school and its students, this research attempts to explore the ways to reducethe burden of students, increase their interest in study and improve their performance. Italso proposes reform in students’ approach to study, the form of homework and theinteraction between students and teachers. The research also advocates the "Three Sheets"teaching mode which intends to transfer key and difficult points to “activity Sheet”,training and consolidations after class to “Self-improvement Sheet” and communicationbetween school and parents to “Contact Sheet”. These three sheets will be supplementaryto each other in the whole teaching process. Methods of literature research, questionnaire survey, and experimental approach areemployed to study how to work out “Three Sheets” appropriate for Nantong No.3MiddleSchool with the use of modern teaching theory, which is then carried out in classroomteaching to examine its effects. Two classes with similar learning performance in biologyfrom Senior1are chosen to be the subjects for one-term study. The “Three Sheets”teaching mode is used in the experimental class, while the regular way is employed in thecontrol group. In the end, the author makes an analysis on their end-term results, as well asan analysis on the survey carried out for the students in the experimental class only. Theresult indicates that the strategy of “Three Sheets” teaching mode is effective andappropriate. The employment of this strategy has significantly improved students’ learningperformance.
