Research On The Changes And Developments Of Chinese Sports External Relations From1995to2008

Sports began from the ideal pursuit and practice during the development of humancivilization, of which people call for peace, enhance communication, deepen trust andreconciliation. This is the unchanged true meaning of the Olympic spirit of ancient andmodern times. With its wide mass who participate in it, and social influence,sports isvery suitable to serve as the means of contact and exchanges. Sports diplomacy isusually the sign of a country’powerfulness and open policy. Sports diplomacy is also anintegral part of China’s diplomatic strategy; an important channel of strengtheningpeople’s friendly exchanges with other countries and expanding China’s political andeconomic influence, and a bridge to establish friendly relations with all countriesaround the world.Standing with the height of history insight, basing on the spirit of seeking truthfrom facts, to look at the progress of our sports in the development of foreign relationsis practically meaningful for the correctly understanding of history, drawing lessonsfrom experience, and constantly recreating a new situation of the foreign work, and alsoto a certain extent, is to contribute to promote the degree of China’s all-round andmulti-level overall diplomacy.At present,it is very limited to gain the research of China’s foreign relationshipchanges and developments, rather, it is fruitful in the fields of sports diplomacy, Chinasports globalization, China and the international Olympic movement and relatedresearch results. In the dissertation research aspects on a certain historical period ofChinese sports foreign relations change and development in the view of historiography,the researches on China’s sports diplomacy within60years since new china wasfounded is found many, yet there is no special reserch on China’s sports foreignrelations change and development during the period of1995-2008year. To select China’s sports foreign relations change and development during the period of1995-2008year as the research object, is to describe and reflect on China’s sports foreign relationschange and development,to fill the vacancy in the study of China sports foreigncommunication change and development while combining with domestic andinternational political, economic, cultural, social background.By using the method of documentation, logistic analysis, historical study, basing onthe big events in14years from1995to2008in Chinese Sports Almanac, this articlecollects and analyzes the events about Chinese sport international communications; andthen divides it to three parts to study（1995-2000，2001-2004，2005-2008）accordingto the history backgrounds and big events. Meanwhile, in each part it will study thetransformation and development of Chinese sports from three aspects: Chinese andInternational sports organization relationship, Chinese sports games and the nationalsport relationship. Finally through the restore and analysis of big events and mainpeople, it will study the transformation and development of Chinese sport internationalcommunication from1995to2008.By studying the transformation and development of Chinese sport internationalcommunication from1995to2008, it will explore the study base and enrich the studymaterial for the study of Chinese sport international communication in the future. It hasthe realistic meaning for a correct understanding of history, drawing lessons fromexperience and failure and exploring a new ground for international communication; insome extents, it will make contribution for promoting the whole diplomacy in all-roundand multi-level. It will also have reference significance for the development of othersocial culture besides sports by studying transformation and development of Chinesesport international communication.China has got some discourse power in the world to a certain extent because of thetremendous achievements of sports in change and development of external relations,which gradually plays a leading role in the world sports field. Chinese sports have madea further breakthrough in the shift from sports nation to sports power, essence ofphysical and the ideal of a common human society. Besides, China begins to affect otheraspects, meeting the demand of harmonious development of China and the world, leading the human culture to the degree of great harmony.
