The physical decline of our youth has caused widespread concern of the nationalsociety,which also has been a negative factor for building a harmonious society. So weshould take it seriously, at the same time, we also need to enhance the sense of urgencymission. Sports games, as part of the physical education, which not only has somefunctions, such as, fitness, education, entertainment and so on, but also can meet thephysiological and psychological development of pupils. In addition, Sports games alsoplay an important role in stimulating students’ interests and hobbies, mobilizing theenthusiasm of the students to exercise, developing students’ intellectual, improvingstudents’ ideological and moral aspects.In recent years, results of Students’ Physical test in Suzhou aren’t optimistic. Inorder to promote sports games among primary schools in Suzhou and strengthen peopleto understanding of the importance and the necessity of using sports games. Methods ofliterature study, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and logical analysis wereadopted to investigating the situation of sports games courses in elementary physicaleducation, the status of physical education teachers on the use of sports games and theconstraints of the physical education teachers to carry out sports games. We can drawthe following conclusions:1、The quality of elementary school physical education teachers in Suzhou gusuarea is higher, and the sports teaching and research atmosphere is good.The age structure of physical education teachers in elementary school tend to beyounger, More than80%of the PE teachers are undergraduate and above, they have ahigher degree,90%of PE teachers are professional sports, and formed a relatively goodteaching and research atmosphere.2、The importance of sports game at elementary school in Suzhou gusu area to berealized, but supporting for teaching needs to be improved70%of primary schools are able to incorporate sports games into health class outline in Suzhou gusu, Nearly70%of schools have a detailed teaching plan for sports game, Only20%of the schools has aprofessional guidance to sports game, over50%of primary school can achieve requestproportion as "sports and health teaching outline", but school administrators have notenough emphasis on sport games teaching.3、Elementary school PE teachers should be to further improve the scientific ofusing the sports games in Suzhou gusuSuzhou gusu area elementary school PE teachers support sport games for teachingand focusing on the entertainment and educational functions of sports games.60%ofteachers think that physical games play an important role in the teaching, more than50%teachers think sports game is important in training students’ interest. Nearly30%of teachers use less time to sports games teaching, the distribution of sports games inthe teaching is uneven. The type of sports games were used by teacher at most is6-10,The type of sport games mastered is relatively poor. In sport games, track and field andgymnastics games most are selected, while the development and utilization of ballgames are less, thus it is not conducive for students to comprehensive understandingand mastering about sport4、PE teachers to carry out sport games in Suzhou gusu was influenced bysubjective and objective factorsRestricting factors of sports game promotion are double, the influence andsubjective. The top three is the lack of sport games teaching materials and resources, thelack of education and improve related to sports games, and the lack of opportunity toview outstanding sports games lessons, respectively. In addition, there are40%PEteachers are not daring to carry out sports games because of fear of a security incident.According to the conclusion, through the application principle of sport games, casepromotion, announcements of sports games in the teaching, etc to cause the attention ofsports teachers and relevant government departments, and give full play to the importantrole of sport games.
