With the rapid growth of science and technology, the Internet becomes a prevalentphenomenon, which greatly changes people’s lives. Meanwhile, the internet has broughtunprecedented impact on the implementation of the School of ideological and politicaleducation management. Vocational schools, as a particular kind of institution, accommodate astudent population that is different from those from other generic schools. Given the purposeto train skilled talents and the students in vocational schools are always weak in basicknowledge, deficit in organization and discipline, have poor self-control, and are vulnerable tothe unhealthy impact. In addition, since the students in vocational schools are at a critical ageof fostering the view of the world, life and value, how to conduct ideological and politicaleducation management in the age of internet is particularly important. Taking Five vocationalschools in Yantai city as an example, I first reviewed the literature to summarize problemsthat vocational school ideological and political education management are facing problems inthe context of internet. I then used questionnaire survey and interviews and other researchmethods, to investigate the problems. I proposed suggestions to solve those problems.In the present research, the approaches of literature review, questionnaire and interview asare used to examine both administrators and students in the ideology and politics education.At the administrators level, I looked into five aspects: a) the managers’ demographicinformation,, b) organization and management belief, c) team structure, training, workimplementation, d) performance evaluation, e) students’ participation. At the student level, Iinvestigated six aspects, including: a) students’ demographic information, b) their views of theworld, life and values in the age of internet, c) their attitude towards the education andmanagement of the organization and management concepts; d) the attitude towardsmanagement team structure, training, implementation; e) the attitude towards the educationmanagement effectiveness evaluation. Results showed following problems in the practice ofideology and politics education management: organizational structure, managementphilosophy needs to be improved; ideological and political level of the management teamshould be increased; lack of innovation in management implementation process; deficit ineffective evaluation and monitoring mechanisms.Based on the comprehensive analysis, we proposed the following suggestions. First, themanagement of ideology and politics education must adapt to the age of internet, in therespect of construction of the protection of management mechanisms, theoretical research andfunding. Second, the management work must adapt to the age of internet by improvingabilities of identifying network information and computer application, perfecting the trainingMechanism and staff structure. Third, create innovative ways of ideological and politicaleducation network management to adapt to the age of internet, such as encouraginginnovation, building up communication platform, and encouraging students to innovate.Fourth, it is necessary to establish the system of performance evaluation and supervision inorder to adapt to the age of internet, including the construction of the effective evaluationsystem monitoring mechanism.
