To strengthen college students’moral education in institutions of higher learning is animportant content of ideological and political education work.With the rapid development ofglobalization,socialist market economy,mass media and the Internet,college students’moraleducation which shoulders the responsibility of fostering lofty moral character and qualifiedtalents is facing the challenges of a variety of social thoughts,western values and way oflife.Especially,with the emergence of social thoughts which have the western capitalistideology imprint, social thoughts co-exist enlightenment and misleading which compares to adouble-edged sword,the influence on college students’moral education in China is not onlyunconscious but also abundantly clear.As the builders and successors of the cause of buildingsocialism in China,because of the lack of the necessary discrimination,college students arebewitched by adverse western social thoughts,the establishment of their ideology,theirvalues,life goals are influenced.The paper begins with the definition of related theories of western social thoughts andcollege students’moral education, analyzes the positive and negative influence of the mainwestern social thoughts on college students’ moral education,then combines with the theoryof foreign and domestic outstanding moral education methods,conforms to the requirementsof the era of college students’ moral education principle, proposes to tackle the major westernsocial thoughts countermeasure suggestions of strengthening contemporary moraleducation.we can create a family education environment,campus environment,the health ofsocial environment of the Trinity sterile human environment; We can change the concept ofmoral education for college students, put the moral education process as a common workingprocess of internal cause and external cause, promote the concept of moral educators andstudents to the people-oriented,opening and development, struggle and practice;We can unitethe advantage of university teaching theory research,practice teaching and the power of newsmedia and the network, multi-party cooperation,complementary advantages to form resultantforce,in order to achieve the goals of opening up new areas of moral education,enriching newcontent and methods of moral education,radiating the inherent vitality of the moral educationof college students and enhancing the effectiveness of moral education.
