The present day college students grow up in an environment of openand reform policy, new technology revolution, and the economicglobalization, so their morality state attract the attention of the wholecountry or even the whole world. Undoubtedly, their morality do havesome problems. There are many reasons for the causes. As to the higherschool moral education, it is because that it did not centered on the coreduty: to cultivate the choice ability of college students on moraleducation.Many researches have been done in this aspect. This paper willmake a further study on how to cultive choice ability of college studentsfor the purpose of assessing the main task of higher school moraleducation, upgrading the moral ability of Chinese people, andconstructing our spirit civilization to revival our nation.The ability of morality choice is one aspect of morality ability, it is apractical ability, which is an ability of people to make their choices fromtheir own moral standard, moral principles and moral values. Theprecondition for the cultivating of college students'morality choice abilityis to assess their morality level, which requires the evaluation of theirmorality choice ability. When we are evaluating their morality choiceability, we should not only evluate the degree, but also the quality. Thisevaluation can only be assessed by morality choice, its purpose is toregulate the main task and prime policy of college moralityeducation. College students'morality choice ability is the main part oftheir moral quality. So, the cultivation of their morality choice ability isthe basic channel and breakthrough for upgrading their moral quality.The purpose of moral education in our higher school is to upgradethe moral quality of Chinese people and thus to promote the developmentof our society, so we should get rid of the influence of "Emphasize -Knowledge", which unilaterally emphasizes the moral knowledge. Tocultivate the morality choice ability of college students, we should makeit the main orientation of higher school moral education. Only throughthis, college students will not be satisfied with their "knowing" of moralknowledge, instead, they will actively perfect their personality and beprudential with their behavior and thus shoulder the social responsibility.To cultivate the morality choice ability of college students, we make it themain orientation of higher school moral education; it is determined by thechanging society, the diversity of moral values, the self-determination ofindividual activity, the practice nature of morality, and the difficulties ofchanging the poor effect of higher school moral education.)The idea of higher school moral eduction is people's basic concepton the nature, value and activities of higher school moral education, it isrelated with the quality of higher school moral education. Under thepresent day's social and historical conditions, higher school moraleducation should have such believes as humanist idea, individualitedidea, idea of life, and idea of responsibility. Only when these new moraleducation idea are set up and the different requirements of each of thebelieves are obeyed can higher school moral education have the functionof improving college students' moral quality.The cultivation of the college students' morality choice ability isclosely related with an effective higher school morality education method.If we want to construct the higher school morality education system, whatwe should take into consideration first is the construction principles andmain methods besides the scientificness, pertinence and validity of eachmethod.These principles include the combination of theory with practice,the combination of the teacher's guidence with the construction of thestudents themselves, and the combination of individual development with the influence of the connectivity. The corresponding education methodsincluding persuading method, discussion method, and activitiesexperiencing method. Persuading method ia an method which is centeredon the the guidence of the teacher and take morality education as themain content.The discussion method take both the college students andthe teacher as the main body, emphasizing the interaction between theteacher and the students. While the activities experiencing method is away which is acted by the college students and centered on the moralpractice. The purpose of these methods is to activate their sense of beingthe main body of morality education, and the suitable way is through theself education of the college students.
