This article is mainly around some topics about the role of teachers in classroom teaching and how to effective organize the classroom teaching, introduces the theory of social interaction theory of intermediary role. The concept of intermediary role aims to guide students through a variety of mandatory, selective, collaborative and many other ways to cultivate students’ abilities of getting effective learning consciousness and clear goal, and let students learn how to independent learning and cooperative development. The theory play an irreplaceable role on improving the effect of English teaching. This paper mainly discusses the mediation role in English teaching and how teachers play intermediary role in English teaching, designed to provides a new theoretical reference under the new situation of the student-oriented teaching mode. Two psychologists Lev Vygotsky and Feuerstein were introduced in this paper, and through the analysis of Feuerstein’s theory of intermediary to clarify the important position used in foreign language teaching. A new teaching model based on understand the learners’ individual differences has been put forward, and carried on a discussion of how to use "intermediation theory" in the process of English teaching. The article also combined with teaching practice to explore the twelve characteristics of theory applied in middle school English classroom, proposed the teacher should act as the role of mediator in the middle of the teaching practice to promote students’ ability of cognition. This article carried on the discussion respectively based on several aspects such as teachers’ ideas, cultivating the students’ learning strategies and students’ autonomous learning and so on, which suggested that the teacher’s role is not only the manager of teaching, but also a role of mediator to help students understand the task and goal, the significance role of promoting them to master certain learning strategies, to form consciousness, confidence and ability to control their behavior as well as to create appropriate psychological environment for them, thus cultivating students’ ability of autonomous learning to help students become effective learners, develop the independent learning of students and finally achieve the self-construction. Characteristics of this study:the research set student who is the learning subject as the center, inspire the students to acknowledge and understand about the mediation theory, guide students to have an active and positive attitude towards errors and difficulties in English learning, cultivate the students’ to learning how to achieve confidence and optimism. In addition, on the perspective of teaching by teacher, this research paid attention the phenomenon of applying the intermediation theory, in the process of intermediation theory’s application, teacher’s mediation function mainly achieved through language communication, teacher create favorable environment of language learning for students to help and guide the students to master learning skills in interactive, autonomy study and achieve development in all-around way.Though appropriate explanation and guidance on task, teacher would give feedback and evaluation on the organization of class activities and students’ performance in the learning process, and helping students to finish learning tasks better, strengthening the effect of classroom teaching, making students cognitive of language level to a higher stage.
