With the development of electronic technology, the chip-pin interface is more and more, along with complex package, the number of the solder joints the test pin bed can contact reduced, which increased the difficulty of the traditional board test method. In1985, some major electronics manufacturers of Europe and North America set up JTAG, and began the study of boundary-scan technology, additionally draft a series of JTAG boundary scan standard.Boundary-scan technology can effectively address the deficiencies of the traditional test methods, to further improve the IC’s online test theory, and received widespread support and application in industry.The paper designed the boundary scan test system based on FPGA. This way not only has good versatility, but also is easy to modify. On the test algorithm research, with the inertia weight discrete particle swarm algorithm (WDPSO) had been applied to the boundary-scan test. The algorithm is able to balance the test time and fault diagnostic capabilities, in line with the trend of the boundary scan test algorithm.The paper first introduced the need for boundary-scan technology and development in the world, described IEEE1149.1standard architecture of the boundary-scan technology, and then in-depth study of the mathematical model of the boundary-scan testing. On this basis, with the inertia weight particle swarm algorithm applied to the boundary-scan algorithm, and compared with some normal test algorithm. The comparison shows that the discrete particle swarm optimization with inertia weight is the compact and complete test algorithm.According to the principle of boundary-scan test, the paper selected the USB mode of communication to achieve the upper and lower computer communications. This communication mode is stable, transmission speed, greatly improving the efficiency of the test. And then the boundary scan controller based on FPGA was designed. Simulation results show that compliance with IEEE1149.1test standard. Finally, the paper designed the test system software, including the man-machine interface and boundary scan test control process. Boundary-scan test control section included the descriptions of the measured circuit interconnection information, the generating and downloading of the test vectors and test commands, test response acquisition, and fault diagnosis process.
