At present, with the increasingly fierce market competition, it is an urgent problem to be in aleading position in the competition, and create favorable conditions for long-term sustainabledevelopment for commercial enterprises. For commercial enterprises, the commodity market nowis in a stage of a Buyer’s market-oriented, all the norms of commodity circulation must be first inconsumer demand; and the product life cycle is being gradually shortened, customer demand forcommodities is also increasingly complex, especially foreign supermarkets, specialty with the joinof foreign large-scale supermarkets and stores, and under the impact of international goods on themarket, which all will lead to more intense market competition.Under the fierce competition, and dominanted by the ideology to reduce operating costs inevery possible way and wide the profit margins, the commercial enterprises explore how to reducethe costs, improve the level of service and social benefits, so we introduce modern logisticsconcepts and models to pursue the lowest possible logistics cost.In this backdrop, Nantong department store also needs to improve its traditionalorganizational structure and business process by combining the development of moderninformation management technology and logistics disciplines and Establish a corresponding goodslogistics information system with the development of new technologies and scientific, in order toprotect the business as much as possible to reduce the commodity logistics costs and to improveservice levels and customer satisfaction in building staff and to enhance the competitiveness ofenterprises and market profitability.In this paper, in order to solve the problems of merchandise logistics management in NantongDepartment Store, the auther design the commodity logistics information system which adapts tothe entire commodity logistics systems from an overall perspective, through the effective control and coordination between the logistics flow and information flow, to change the phase separationsituation of the logistics, information flow, capital flow. According to the logistics businessprocesses and organizational structure, the auther focus on these four points of purchasing logistics,marketing logistics, as well as the core Inventory Management and the modern the commoditylogistics information system which adapts to the entire commodity logistics systems to design theoverall Commodity logistics system which can ensure the normal and effective operation ofenterprises, meet the customer needs as well as optimize the commodity logistics businessprocesses, reduce cost of goods, and improve the profitability of the enterprise.
