With the increasingly fierce global competitiveness,in the process of continuousgrowth and expansion, many companies have chosen to go the road of diversifieddevelopment.Enterprises in order to maximize the use of market opportunities,maximize profits, fully and rationally use the enterprise resource capacity, dispersebusiness risk, achieve sustainable and stable growth, and ultimately enhance theircompetitive strength; they choose the strategic expansion to the business segmentsoutside of the existing business. However, how to select the bussiness suitable for theenterprise development, which is business options for the diversification strategy, is aresearch topic to be solved and constantly explore by the theory and business circles athome and abroad.Based on the above background, this paper set a hydroelectric power companie’sdiversified strategic business choice as the study object; analyze the problem ofdiversified strategic business choice in the past, identify the shortcomings of thebusiness choice with the actual situation. Through the use of core competencies,strategic leverage theory and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, this paper bulidthe diversified strategic business choice model based on core competencies, strategicleverage and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. At last, apply the model into ahydroelectric power companie’s diversified strategic business choice, solve the lack ofempiricism. Through the practical application, verify the feasibility and effectiveness ofthe thesis.Research work is demonstrated as follows:First of all, we review literatures of diversified strategic business choice fromhome and aboard, determine the research direction. We research the basic theories andmethods of this paper; analyze the basic principles of core competencies and strategicleverage in detail, clarify the purpose and significance of the study.Next, analyze the characteristics,its problems, the principles and guidance of ahydroelectric power companie’s diversified strategic business choice and, propose anew idea of putting the core competence, strategy leverage and fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation into a hydropower business diversified strategic business choice.Then, according to the above idea of a hydroelectric power companie’s diversifiedstrategic business choice, build the business choice model for diversification strategy based on core competencies, strategic leverage and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation,and design the process and main content for the seven stage of this model.Finally, apply the above research results into the company’s business choice, andmake further analysis of the use and effects analysis. Verify the effectiveness andfeasibility of the diversified strategic business choice model.
