Construction Of Import Trade Evaluation System And The Empirical Research

Under the context of the economic globalization, many trade countries have recognized thebenefits of international export, but also brought trade frictions which have a negative impact onthe domestic economy result. The economic researchers have proposed that the positive effect ondomestic economic growth of import should be repeated, to attract sufficient attention from policymakers. Since the late1990s, scholars from various countries and governments had paid more andmore attention to the sustainable development research. The evaluation criteria of "sustainabledevelopment" had also began to be used in international trade research. In addition, with thedevelopment of the interdependent world trade and an increasing degree of cooperation, onlythrough the perspective of international comparison could be the best assessment on the economicdevelopment and trade development. Because it is badly important to practice in the globalcooperation to learn valuable trade development experience in a dynamic global economyenvironment, which would help a lot with a sustainable and balanced development. As aconclusion, in this kind of context, it is really important and bear amount of meaning to have theidea of sustainable development to be the guiding ideology and build a scientific and rationalevaluation system specifically for the import trade. What’s more, its empirical research based oninternational comparisons of different countries, which would be absolutely helpful in evaluating acountry’s import trade and guiding a country’s imports trade, has a very important practical andtheoretical value.By the theoretical basis of dynamic comparative advantage and endogenous growth theoryunder a global economic environment, this paper established a Import Trade Evaluation Index(ITEI) under three evaluation sustainable development directions, which is named with sustainableeconomic, social and ecological benefits of sustainable. On this basis, we designed a system withthree dimensions of evaluation index and propose an international comparative perspective basedon the evaluation of the analytical framework. Closely linked with the development trend ofselected trade practice evaluation, the paper build an international comparative perspective based on the sustainable development of the import evaluation system.This paper has chosen the entropy method to be the empirical method, which is an objectiveweighting method. The samples had been selected to be China, Germany, Japan and the UnitedStates and the data are some related statistics gathered during2000to2010of these four countries(including2000as the base period). Using these import data, the paper had calculated sustainabledevelopment indicators and then used evaluation analytical framework to make an internationalcomparative analysis. The empirical results show that the sustainable development of China’simport trade in general have an advantage and a strong follow-up momentum, which is resultedfrom the increase of imports scale indicators. Under the social subsystem, United States andGermany have a better performance of this decade. While Japan’s imports under the presenteco-efficiency stable subsystem is clearly better than other countries. In this empirical result, thepaper has proposed a series of trade policies for China’s import trade, which is feasible in theinternational trade practice.
