Some advantageous industries in the field of mining and industrial is unevenobvious advantages, innovation capability and industrial relevance leading role not enoughwhen it is developing fast. Yulin must adapt to the trend of the world’s industrial restructuringand upgrading actively, and combine their strengths to play to its own characteristics to findfeature industry which can take over the leading industries in the mining and industrial areas.Adjust and optimize industrial structure, promote industrial restructuring and upgrading, andto seek the long-term development opportunities and the greater economic benefits.In this paper, the theory of industrial economics and regional economics as a guide, itdraws on the theory of domestic and international selection of advantageous industries, andpresented new insights into the connotation of the advantageous industries. With the currenteconomic situation in Yulin City, the paper builds a system of indicators chosen by theadvantageous industries in Yulin City, to through qualitative analysis and quantitativeanalysis method of combining to choose the advantageous industries for sustainable economicdevelopment in Yulin City. That has been identified for some leading industries of thepetrochemical industry have been unable to meet the current trend of economic development,we must accelerate the upgrading and restructuring. At the same time, a number of highvalue-added manufacturing industries and the development of the fine sharp equipmentmanufacturing industry to highlight the growing potential. Finally, according to the selection results, the paper analyzes the main factors affectingthe development of advantageous industries in Yulin City: Excessive reliance on resourceshas led to uneven industrial structure; a long time, the ecological environment of the westernregion is inadequate investment in scientific research.
