In the knowledge economy era, human resource management has been a key factorto the survival and development of the enterprises. Different countries should havedifferent human resource management models which are rooted in the local traditionalcultures. Passed by management practice of30years, Chinese enterprises should developthe special human resource management model that based on Chinese traditional culturewhich has advantage in the globe competition. Employment standard is the core of thesystem of human resource management. Based on the perspective of relational contracttheory, the article compares the Morality-Ability which is the Chinese traditionalemployment standard and Person-Organization fit which is the western employmentstandard, finds out the differences, and explores the reasons that lead to the differences inthe cultures.Firstly, the article defines the concept of the personnel employing standard and thescope of the study. On the basis of the related theory, including the domestic and foreignresearch, the article defined the Chinese employing standard as a standard that payattention to the employees’ moral character and the American employing standard an astandard that pay attention to the person-organization value fit. Then, on the basis ofrelational contract theory, the article builds the model about the relationship of socialnorms, relational contract and employing standard.In the western individualism culture, the consistency fit in the P-O value Fits refersmainly to the fit of values, goals and cultures between the employers and employees,which is to establish the relational psychological contract between the person and theorganization. But, the Chinese traditional culture has a natural advantage. Emphasis onmoral, rooting on the Chinese traditional culture, contributes to the construction of therelational psychological contract in the organization. And it is benefit to promote theharmonious atmosphere in the organization. Chinese enterprises should take advantage ofour traditional cultural and construct the Chinese human resource management model.
