Research On The Tourism Spatial Layout Of Chengdu

In the 21st century, international tourism shows great vitality and gradually, grows into the world’s largest industry. Similarly, China’s tourism maintains a rapid development and hopes to become a world-class tourism. The rapid and sustainable development of international tourism and national tourism creates a good environment for Chengdu tourism. However, new trends in the tourism and Wenchuan earthquake put forward new demands for Chengdu tourism.One of the new trends of tourism is giving more and more emphasis on sustainable development. In April 2009, Premier Wen Jiabao visited Hainan province and gave an important speech on tourism. He stressed the importance of ecological construction and environmental protection, noting that "good ecological environment is the greatest asset for sustainable tourism development." Wenchuan Earthquake caused great damages on Chengdu’s tourism environment. In order to protect the tourism environment which is relied on by tourism, the most effective way is to optimize the tourism spatial layout.At present, compared with Beijing, Shanghai and other advanced tourism cities, the integration of Chengdu’s tourism development layout and the distribution of rich tourism resources still exist problems, it is hoped that the tourism spatial layout to be improved. The reasonable tourism spatial layout has three benefits. Firstly, it can help to full and effective use of resources. Secondly, it can promote the best combination and collaboration of different tourist areas with limited resources, thereby enhancing overall economic efficiency of tourism. And finally it can protect the balance of environment and ecological, ensure the quality of living environment of urban and rural residents, and reconcile the tourism economy and environmental protection. Therefore, the research and analysis on the tourism spatial layout of Chengdu has important theoretical value and practical significance.This dissertation considers the tourism spatial layout of Chengdu as the research object, and uses several research methods such as combining the horizontal comparison and vertical comparison, as well as the combination of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. Besides, this dissertation refers to a large number of related literatures, including tourism economics, tourism geography, market science, management, various publications about the theory of tourism spatial layout at home and abroad and related published books and papers. The data of this dissertation is from China Statistical Yearbook, Statistical Yearbook of China’s tourism, tourism statistics, Sichuan tourism statistics, Chengdu tourism statistics and so on.This dissertation has five parts.Chapter one:Introduction. It gives an introduction on the research background, research meaning, researches summary in academe, research methods, research framework and shortcomings.Chapter two:Explore the basic theories about tourism spatial layout. This chapter is a theoretical foundation of this dissertation. It firstly defines some related concepts about tourism spatial layout, then deeply explores some related theories such as tourism location theory, Central place theory, growth pole theory, point-axis theory, space spheres theory, life cycle theory and how these theories play a role in the tourism industrial layout. Finally combining with these theories, the author thinks about the tourism of Chengdu.Chapter three:Analyze the tourism development and tourism spatial layout of Chengdu. This chapter begins by introducing the development characteristics of Chengdu’s socio-economic and tourism, then analyze the reasons which impact the tourism spatial layout of Chengdu, and finally by dividing the tourist areas to study the development characteristics of tourism spatial layout of Chengdu.Chapter four:Analyze the changes of Chengdu tourism market and the existing problems of tourism spatial layout of Chengdu. Through the analysis of Chengdu tourism market, this dissertation summarizes some problems existed in the tourism spatial layout of Chengdu.Chapter five:Give some means and measures on how to realize the reasonable tourism spatial layout. Firstly, this chapter discusses the opportunities and conditions for the tourism development of Chengdu. Then it analyzes how to adjust the tourism spatial layout. Finally it concludes some targeted countermeasuresThe main contributions of this paper:(1) At present, the systems theory study of tourism spatial layout is under formation and development. This dissertation collects the relevant results of theoretical studies at home and abroad, explores the tourism spatial layout of Chengdu and puts forward some theoretical point of view.(2) Under the new background of Chengdu tourism, through the analysis of Chengdu tourism market, this dissertation proposes some problems in the tourism spatial layout of Chengdu.(3) Through statistical analysis and econometric model analysis, this disstation gives Chengdu tourism market a relative comprehensive analysis, and also gives some basic approaches and policy measures.
