Pixian County is located in western Sichuan plain as a shining pearl inland in Sichuan. Historically, Pixian had comprehensive competitive power, and the saying "Gold Wenjiang, Silver Pixian" is the best evidence. Pixian is the oldest settlement in the ancient Shu people, and has ancient culture. Today, Pixian are allowed to have"livable" features with its excellent geographical location, rich natural resources and the rich history and culture. Especially, Pixian has encountered an unprecedented real estate boom since the reform and opening up.Therefore, Pixian’s housing industry is its object of study in this EMBA thesis.In recent years, Pixian has launched a series of real estate promotions, and achieved positive results. However, it seems that there is still ambiguous location problem that how Pixian actively adapts to the plan of "global Chengdu" and how to build "the new district of modern garden city" initiatively and firstly in the context of urban and rural co-ordination development. From 2004 to 2008, Pixian served as the "back garden of Chengdu", "satellite city of Chengdu", " new center of Western Chengdu," "healthy and recreational city". From the "better living in Pixian," "Millennium Shu New City, Habitat business park" to "new living port of Chengdu people", it is an important problem that how to develop housing industry healthfully in Pixian in the context of urban and rural co-ordination development.Comparative advantage theory is used to discuss the development of housing industry in Pixian in this thesis. Firstly, it analyzes regional comparative advantage of Pixian in the housing industry, which is superior geographical environment, rich natural resources, rich history and culture, rich human resources, convenient traffic conditions and the economy level. It reveals the problem such as housing industry in Pixian: ambiguity the industry location, "binary" barrier between urban and rural housing industry, unreasonable function zone, lack of supporting facilities, separation of the original ecosystem, western Sichuan houses and modern living function, lacf of interaction in the countryside tourism and housing industry, the distress and disorder of "small property". Secondly, it also analyzes opportunities and the development strategies and paths of housing industry in Pixian in the context of the urban and rural co-ordination development. Finally, it focuses on brand building of housing and proposes the top ten brands of residential design concepts. Based on the concepts, it proposes the detailed planning of housing industry in Pixian.
