Study On The Development Strategy For Modern Service Industry In Nankai District Of Tianjin City

Modern service industry has become an important engine of national economic growth around the world. Since China’s reform and opening up, modern tertiary industry as main source of national revenue has been pushing forward the sustained growth of economy, employment and people’s income. Tianjin city is an important economic center in the North China. As the central municipal region of Tianjin, Nankai district has taken a leading role in the country’s reform of modern service industry, making an important contribution to the development of local economy. With accurately grasping functional orientation of science and technology, Nankai district government has attached priority to developing modern service industry and endeavoring to restructure the industry. In a modern service industry of a small volume, disproportional structure, low content of technology, incompetence and institutional obstacles, many problems emerge, as modern service industry has turned into a leading industry in Nankai district. How to put forward development of modern service industry is thus an enormous issue facing Nankai today.This thesis takes the way that theories analysis and substantial evidence research combine together, carries on a research through records analysis, statistics and so on. It gives an explanation of the conception of the modern service industry as well as the definition of its research scope. Meanwhile, the thesis shows the relationships between stage of economic development, major structure changes and modern service industry development. The thesis focuses on analyzing the development of modern service industry of developed cities at home and abroad for the successful experience. Combining the current situation and existing problems of modern service industry in Nankai district, this thesis tries to study and explores development strategy and planning of modern service industry. Therefore, the key problems about the development of Nankai modern service industry are systematically studied in this thesis.
