Companies today face a multitude of challenges. Competing in today’s business environment precipitates the need for successful integration and collaboration strategies among supply chain partners. There is a growing need to integrate both cross-departmental and cross-company processes. So, improving manufacturing process effectiveness and efficiency becomes a critical differentiator.Supply network management and manufacturing process management in today’s business climate characterized by high uncertainty:globalization of business, outsourcing, shorter product life-cycles, and high customer expectations is extremely challenging. As most important part of supply chain, manufacturing process optimization is able to improve the efficiency of business operation, increase the productivity and on-time delivery, decrease the manufacturing cost and supply chain management cost. Modeling and Simulation can be a valuable tool for manufacturing process analysis, planning, optimization, evaluation, and risk management. This paper presents a methodology for modeling both structure and dynamics of complex supply networks based on a real business case-Foshan Kohler Co., Ltd. It also describes the model-driven simulation methodology and the main components of the simulation software solution:model database, process library, knowledge base, and execution engine. Finally, simulation results of the case manufacturing process are presented.
