Developing green mining and building green mine are the only way to make china’s mining run scientifically, efficiently and sustainably. Building the green development index system of the metallic mines in China is accordance with china’s mining conditions。It meets the green mine construction standards and reflects the green development ideas. By the research, the green development conditions and trends of metallic mines in china are easily measured. The research of indices of the metallic mines in china also provides a reference for policy setting.Based on the theories of international green development and sustainable mining indices research, the problem of green development of the metallic mines in china is summarized and the principles, methods for this research are confirmed. The system of green development index of metallic mines in china includes the target hierarchy, the rule hierarchy, the element hierarchy and the index hierarchy."Pressure-State-Response" systematic research idea is the main idea to analyze the relations among resource, environment and human beings in the mine system and the green economy increasing degree, resources and environment harmonious degree and green development support form the rule hierarchy. Thirty indices related to the green mining constructions are selected as alternatives by the frequency statistics method. These indices are screened by the correlation analysis and principle component analysis methods with the data from "SanShanDao gold mine. ShouYun iron mine, Zaozigou gold mine, Jinduicheng molybdenum mine. Hongling lead zinc mine, Jvgezhuang iron mine, Xincheng gold mine and Panjiatian iron mine", and nine indices of "ore recovery rate,ore dressing recovery percentage, impoverishment rate, beneficiation wastewater reuse rate, utilization rate of water cycle, green coverage rate, percentage of community investment in mine production value, percentage of science&technology investment in mine production value" are gotten which form the index hierarchy. The nine indices are merged into six elements of community environmental improvement degrees, resources environment harmonious degree, contribution to the development of science and technology, mineral development degree, resource recycling degree, resources recovery degree which formed the elemental hierarchy.To make the system more operable, the weight of the six elements and the standards of the green development of metallic mine in china are set with the analysis of the data from "Jinduicheng molybdenum mine, Hongling lead zinc mine and Panjiatian iron mine"...
