Design Of Contract Management Changes/Claims For International General Contract Project

After thirty years of development, China’s international project contract has achieved impressive results, the amount of recent annual turnover and new contract has reached the level of$100billion, which make the international engineering contract become one of the important aspects of China’s foreign economic cooperation, and also China’s international engineering contractor grows up rapidly, their technical ability and level of management rise with a unforgettable speed, more and more enterprises begin to contract international complex EPC projects. However, released from the ENR (Engineering News-Record), there is a great gap between our international engineering contractors and the world’s leading contractors, identified basing on the information of Top225national ranking and analysis of contractor, our contractor’s turnover and profits are significantly smaller than the world-famous contractors, especially in the profit area.The main distance between our international engineering contractors and the world’s leading contractors is the project management, include the ability of general contract contract management of contract management of claims and changes. Project management is a source of profit of project, and the management of contract is the core of management of project, and the management of claims and changes is the core of management of contract. This paper deeply study about management of contract and management of claims and changes for the international general contract project. Firstly this paper feature from the international general contract projects and management of contracts、claims and changes, after analyzing the construction situations of some international general contract projects, especially an general contract project in Algeria, which help to summary the main work needed to be done and some summarized the skills of the management of contract/Claims/Changes. Then in function of the structure of contract of the project, this paper also suggest a series of proposed measures concerning the problems existed of management of contract、Claims and Changes of international general contract project; this paper also deeply study the way to increase the ability of general contract for our international engineering contractors.Through the research of management of contract and claims and changes of international general contract project, this paper aims to provide the reference for Chinese enterprises engaged in the large and complex management of contract and of claims and changes of international general contract projects.
