The21st century is the era of green energy shortage era, and the world’s environmental problems and energy crisis will worsen. In2020car ownership of China will be more than200million amounts, by then these two issues in China will be more serious. World, including China will be the goal of sustainable development steering electric vehicles, and China has promoted the development of electric vehicles into the12th Five-Year Plan. The electric car charging market will be huge opportunities and challenges. China Southern Power Grid Company and many oil giant companies have begun to compete for the electric car charging business in this emerging industry. This article uses the theory of the strategic management to analyze the internal and external situation of the electric car charging business of China Southern Power Grid, by analyzing the company’s corporate strategy, to explore the emerging business.The full text is divided into four parts. The first chapter is an introduction about the background and methodology of this research. The second chapter is an overview of the theory of corporate strategy. The third chapter has introduced the electric car charging business environment that the China Southern Power Grid Company is trying to explore. This chapter describes the operations of the China Southern Power Grid Company, also introduces how to analyze the China Southern Power Grid Company of the external environment, internal conditions by using corporate strategic management theory, and then uses the SWOT analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the electric car charging business, as well as opportunities and challenges. At last it summarizes the probability of success of the charging business by using the external Factor Evaluation matrix (EFE) and internal factors evaluation matrix (IFE). The fourth chapter analyzes the strategy of electric car charging business. Considering the actual situation of China Southern Power Grid Company and the competition of electric car industry, this chapter also discusses the product strategy, customer strategy, cooperation strategy.
