With the future world energy supply and consumption to be diversified, clean, efficient, global and marketable, the development of new energy is in the ascendant. The direction of adjustment of energy structure and related policies becomes important. At present, China will vigorously develop the exploitation and utilization of natural gas as a long-term strategy. Certainly, the future supply and demand of natural gas will have tremendous ascend space, the scale of natural gas market expands ceaselessly, the whole natural gas industry will erupted into a rapid development, which is undoubtedly a momentous benefit for the gas and the energy company.Firstly, the organizational infrastructure, the enterprise culture, the status in quo and the current problems of China Gas Holdings Limited (hereinafter referred to as CHINAGAS) are briefly described and analyzed in this thesis. Then, using some stratagem analysis method, in view of the internal and external environment of CHINAGAS (External environment mainly including international and domestic political and economic environment, the relevant laws, and the competitive and business environment of the industry norm, etc. Internal environment mainly including the internal advantages, the present problems, and core competitiveness, etc.), by using SWOT analysis, the unique and distinct advantages and some internal disadvantages of CHINAGAS crying for solution which are due to its competitors are analyzed. According to the external environment of CHINAGAS, it is in the historic chances of the domestic natural gas industry erupted into a rapid development, while it still has the powerful challenges and threats from its competitors. Finally, by analyzing the strategic choice matrix form of CHINAGAS, the future development strategy which CHINAGAS should adopt is proposed in the thesis.According to the SWOT analysis and WO strategy for CHINAGAS, the recent and the long-term strategy development goals and relevant guarantee measures of CHINAGAS are interposed. CHINAGAS should solve the problems of incongruous control system and human resources shortages for the rapid development in three to five years, by grasping the opportunity of the external natural gas development, thereby laying the foundation of "Hundred Years CHINAGAS".In summary, CHINAGAS should adjust to the national policies, breakthrough their own institutional and other limitations, set up the business mode, the management system and the operation mechanism for the industry continuously growing, then CHINAGAS can finally success in fierce market competition. Facing the natural gas development of domestic market, and the increasing throat-cutting competition situation, CHINAGAS must tightly follow the national development strategy and industry future, show great foresight, study, formulate and adjust the group of strategic location, medium and long-term development plan, to establish a group of core competitiveness, and then, finally indicates the future developmental direction of the dream of "Hundred Years CHINAGAS"...
