Explore economic strategy should be from two county characteristics : first is the nature, economy and the condition of this area, to research new growth point and core in industry and the county economy, setting out the correct development strategy and mode; second is around“county characteristic”, to pursuit of a“you have me have, you have my best, you best I big”in comparative advantages, cultivating characteristics through the advantage mining.At present, Handan county economic development is in the superior level in Handan economic development, but the county economy structural contradiction is still outstanding, the quality of economic growth and benefit is not strong enough; emerging industries, particularly high and new technology industry is at a small proportion; The traditional industry transformation and upgrading urgent to accelerate, changing patterns of development is still relatively difficult; scale and the quality of service industry development is to be further enhanced . So characteristic industry can get together county economic advantages, change potential advantages into reality and the advantages, so the development of county characteristic industry able to shoulder the responsibility of the development of county economy, so this paper on the study of characteristic industry in Handan county is critical significance in theory and in practice.This paper firstly combed the research theory of county economy development characteristic industry in current domestic and foreign and grasp on the nature of the characteristic industry from the theoretical connotation; analyzed the necessity about characteristics of the industry development of Handan county;Secondly, this paper analyzed Handan county natural and social economic basis of the characteristic industry development. Natural resources include counties geographical location, mineral resources, etc.; social economic status is analyzed mainly from the county economy comprehensive strength, industrial structure, infrastructure, new rural construction and so on;Again, the thesis body part.Used Location quotient methods to analyzed the present situation and resources situation of Handan county industry, to get that: the characteristic industry in the first industry are milk and eggs; the characteristic industry in the second industry is steel related industry based on the traditional advantage industry—steel industry; the characteristic industry in the third industry are real estate industry and traffic logistics industry. Although there is advantage industry in three industries, there is shortage in the industrial structure, personnel quality and technology of inadequate at the same time. Finally, according to the Handan county characteristic industrial development situation and existing problems to propose the solutions from the policy system innovation, human resources construction, etc.
