In recent years, with the development of national economy, also make a spurt of progress of shipping industry development, in order to adapt the development of the construction of container transportation process is also the important node in the terminal managers attention, however, due to limitations in front yard of port had to turn to the rear yard for investment, this is the future development trend. This paper is to rear yard container dock function area layout research. Rear yard container within the function area layout strategy for yard overall logistics efficiency to have very big effect, accordingly, choose suitable yard function area layout strategy is very important.At present, domestic and foreign research on yard in front yard, rear yard is relatively small, the future importance of rear yard was not caused enough take seriously, at the same time the yard research mainly in mathematical modeling, and then the optimal layout scheme. However, container terminal as a typical discrete event systems are very difficult to completely describe by a mathematical formula, the mathematical model and the simulation software organically in the mathematical model, optimal solution based on the parallel, equal area type separation type and different area separating three kinds of layout strategy comparative research.This paper first introduces the container terminals and container dock rear yard basic knowledge. Secondly, through to the rear yard container logistics system is analyzed, based on queue theory knowledge, get the rear yard container logistics system is composed of the door service subsystem, truck service subsystem and field bridge service subsystem. After that, gives the main performance index of the rear yard container logistics system. Then, according to the practical operation in the rear yard and rear yard relevant theoretical knowledge, put forward three kinds of common rear yard layout strategy, using the Flexsim software to the container yard of three kinds of layout strategy for simulation, and according to the obtained data and yard logistics system performance evaluation index, the three strategies are compared research, and gives the corresponding example.
