Car ownership increased year after year in China, which led the automotive aftermarket develop rapidly and the needs of auto spare parts logistics expand continually. While, how to reduce logistics costs and improve customer satisfaction though the quality management of auto spare parts logistics has become the important issues need to address. Therefore, we study auto spare parts logistics from the perspective of quality control, centered on the core process, combined with uncertainty demand, a wide variety of spare parts, and multi operations of the logistics with high specialization requirement. We analyzed the core process and output and input of auto spare parts logistics with the study of logistics quality control theory and Six Sigma theory and method; based on that, we use process capability analysis method to quantify the control of the core processes of the automotive spare parts logistics.Through the use of SIPOC model of Six Sigma, we can identify the core processes of automotive spare parts, the key process input and process output, and establish a control framework based on the quality of the process of automobile spare parts logistics. Then quantitative research of the core processes of the automotive spare parts logistics is needed. This paper use process capability index to quantify the process capability, extended the classic process capability index formula with the statistical characteristics of the output of the logistics process, and presented the automotive spare parts logistics capability index formula. Finally, we introduced an empirical analysis of the above-mentioned method.
