Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, more and more womenentered a career. out of the family. A survey of1995shows that female employees inChina accounted for44percent of all labors, which is ten percentage points higherthan the world average34%.A survey of Association of China Women Entrepreneursin2004found that, Almost98%of companies operated by female entrepreneurs areprofitable. These fully explain the important position of female talent, as well as theneed for developing female talent. Female high-level person which are the best infemale talent have made outstanding contributions for the progress and developmentof society, they pursue higher standards of professional success. However, in practicalwork, we found that not every women’s career development is well, and some evensuffered a "glass ceiling" bottleneck. So whether for individuals or organizations, howto speed up the career success of female high-level person must be solved urgently.A large number of scholars have researched on career success, but mostlylimited to individual or organizational level. Personal career success depends not onlyon personal characteristics, but also depends on organizational factors. This papercombines emotional intelligence and organizational support to discuss theirrelationship with career success. All scales taken in the research are foreign maturityscales. Measurement of emotional intelligence is Emotional Competency Inventorydeveloped by Goleman. Measurement of perceived organizational support is Surveyof Perceived Organizational Support developed by Eisenberger, Huntington,Hutchison, and Sowa (1986), and we choose eight high-load items that are applicable to a variety of organizations. Measurement of career success is divided into objectivecareer success and subjective career success; measurement of subjective careersuccess takes pay and promotion, which are measured by answering questions;measurement of objective career success takes job satisfaction, career satisfaction andlife satisfaction. Job satisfaction is measured by the Brayfield-Rothe Job SatisfactionIndex Scale with five items (Brayfield&Rothe’s,1951); Career satisfaction ismeasured by the five items scale designed by Greenhaus, Parasuraman&Wormley(1990);Life satisfaction is measured by the Satisfaction With Life Scale designed byEd Diener.This paper researches on female senior managers and university female teachers(associate professor or above).300questionnaires were sent out by means ofrandom sampling,and then264were selected though screening. Trough analysisingdata by using SPSS18.0, the results shows that the scales’ reliability and validity arewell, and can be used for correlation and regression analysis. Through empiricalresearch we find that: Emotional intelligence has positive effects on career successand its dimensions; Emotional intelligence has a positive effect on perceivedorganizational support. Perceived organizational support has positive effects on careersuccess and its dimensions;Perceived organizational support plays an intermediaryrole in the relationship between emotional intelligence and career success and itsdimensions.In daily human resources management,organization managers should focus onthe training and upgrading of female high-level person’ emotional intelligence,givemore organizational support,then enhance their perceived organizational supportand satisfaction. For female high-level person, they should learn to assess andperceive their own and others’ emotions, develop the ability to regulation and controltheir emotions. Through the efforts of organization and female high-level person,accelerating the career development of female high-level person, then help they achieve career success.
