In recent decades, companies have increasingly leveraged the Internet to enhancetheir internal and external connectivity. Accompanying the benefts of the use ofInternet in the workplace are new threats such as increased security risks andimproper use. Internet abuses by employees at the workplace are a real concern tonearly all companies, These non-work-related Internet activities not only reduce theproductivity of employees but also open the door to a wide spectrum of securitybreaches such as viruses and spywares. An Internet use policy (IUP) is adopted bymost companies to reduce Internet use for non-work-related purposes. Despite thewide deployment of IUP in companies, the scope of Internet misuse is still on the rise;most companies deemed their IUP to be ineffective. Non-compliance is a major issue.In this study, we employ the rational choice perspective to examine the factorsinfuencing IUP compliance. In particular, our research questions center on that factorinto employees’ intention to comply with the IUP (compliance intention), andmechanisms that could facilitate IUP compliance.Drawing on the literatures in complying internet use policy, this paper proposesthe research model to examine what factors affect employees’ intention to complywith Internet use policy, Drawing upon the180surveying useable respondents as theresearch object, Using SPSS. We conducted relibility and validity analysis,confirmatory factor analysis to calculated data, empirical analysis employees’personal factors affect employees’ intention to comply with Internet use policy.The results of our study suggest that employees’ IUP compliance intention issufficiently affected by personal norms and personal effective, the perceived beneftsof compliance and the perceived costs of non-compliance also have affect onemployees’ IUP compliance intention.
