Taylor, as the father of scientific management and the founder of the modern management science, his scientific management theory has extremely influenced both the practice and the theory of management, which includes many aspects of the modern management, and have a profound philosophical sense. The experience and lessons of it have important implications for the build of the management practice and management theory today.Taylor’s scientific management theory was formed under the complicated era and historical background, the requirements of the development of the productive forces brought by the second industrial revolution provided the most powerful motivation, the western positive management experience provided it with the rich soil, and the development of modern science provided the scientific spirit of the typical and methodological tools, these factors made the birth of the scientific management theory become the the history of the inevitable.Taylor’s scientific management theory involves many aspects of modern management. He aimed at the common prosperity of the management and labour, and the immediate objectivel is improving productivity. In order to achieve these goals, he put forward four "new task" about the management, including work methods, worker training, labor division and scientific cooperation. In addition, he also put forward many specific management measures, the work principle, standardization principle, and so on. In his views, the essence of the scientific management of both sides is the intellectual revolution, that is through increasing the quantity of wealth to realize common prosperity, not changing the way of distribution, and use the scientific management method to replace the experience one.Taylor’s scientific management theory contains deep philosophical implication. It emphasizes the scientific of the management theory, that is empirical science, it conceals the spirit of instrumental rationality. It makes the "economic man" as the basis of humanity, but the back of it is people’s increasing one-side since modern times. It sounds that the efficiency first principle is actually through increasing the quantity of wealth to avoid the problem of justice distribution, basically the common prosperity is doomed to be an empty talk.Taylor’s scientific management theory has heavily influenced the management practice and management theory in later ages and contemporary, both positive and negative. Therefore, we should fully absorb the experience to set up the management theory, which is adequate for the current situation of our country, both scientific and people-oriented.
