Research On The Residents’Perception And Attitude Toward The Earthquake Tourism In Sichuan Province

The Wenchuan earthquake in2008has caused a serious blow to the tourism economy of Sichuan Province. After that, revive the tourism economy has become an important issue for the economic reconstruction of Sichuan Province after the earthquake. Around the issue and with the actual situation in the earthquake affected areas, a plan about development of earthquake tourism was proposed. After proposed, the plan has led a Wide attention and lively discussion in the society. The focus of those discussions can be summed up into two questions:should the earthquake tourism be developed in Sichuan Province? How to develop the earthquake tourism in Sichuan Province? In recent years, a lot of Scholars have tried to answer those two questions scientific and rational from the residents’position. This thesis draw on their experience, explore the rationality and sustainability of the earthquake tourism in Sichuan Province by measure the residents’perception and attitude toward the earthquake tourism and analyze the special nature of earthquake tourism.This thesis takes the Yingxiu in Wenchuan, Bailu in Pengzhou, new town of Beichuan as study area. Design the residents’perception and attitude measurement scale for earthquake tourism, and recover the research data by questionnaire and interview.By descriptive statistical analysis and factor analysis to the research data, this thesis found that the residents have positive perception and attitude toward the earthquake tourism, and demonstrated the rationality of the earthquake tourism in Sichuan Province from the residents’position.By analysis of variance and correlation analysis to the research data, this thesis found that the residents with different demographic characteristics, different relationship with tourism and different living environment have different perception and attitude toward the earthquake tourism. There are some significant correlations between residents’perception and attitude toward the earthquake tourism. By comb and analysis those factors and correlations, this thesis propose some policy recommendations for the development of earthquake tourism.This research has some innovation; of course there are some limitations, those limitations can be improved in future research.
