With the rise of living standard, people pay more attention to the pursuit ofspiritual life, therefore, tourism activity become an important way of purisitingspiritual pleasure in modern leisure time.The ratio of tourism consumption in thepeople’s daily consumption and disposable income is gradually increasing, and thetourism industry has become a huge system of input and output. The emerging Redtourism attracts the state government departments’ great attention because of itsunique historical education significance. But the development of tourism willinevitably lead to the change of the tourism destination’s economic, social and culturalenvironment, which beared by local residents. However, the fact is that residents areoften the overlooked role in previous research in tourism research. As an importantparticipant in the tourism economic activities and the main bearer of tourism impact,the residents need to be researched necessarily with their perception, which canprovides suggestion to the development of local tourism.This paper is divided into six parts. The first chapter is the introduction part,which mainly introduces the research background, research significance, researchmethod and contents. Moreover, I summarize the research on residents’ perceptionand the red tourism. The second chapter is the theoretical basis of this paper. Isummarize the three basic concepts firstly, and then introduce three revelent theories.The third chapter is about the research about the development of red tourism in Ruijin,which introduce the local tourist resources and residents participation in tourism.Thefourth chapter is about the study area and empircal research. On the basis ofunderstanding the study area, the author uses SPSS18.0for the factoranalysis,variance analysis and cluster analysis of the questionnaire data to explore themain factor of residents’ perceptions and the differences in perception of residentscaused by demographic characteristics as well as to classify the residents. In the fifthchapter I give some advices on the development of Ruijin’s red tuorim from the pointof residents. At the last chapter, I point out the research conclusion and theshortcomings of this research.The study shows that there are five main factors which influence the localresidents’ perception on tourism impact:"ideology factor","economic factors","cultural exchange and development","the living environment impact factor","infrastructure impact factor".The local residents have stronger feelings of the positivethan the negative effect.The differences in demographic characteristics of five aspectscan all cause the corresponding perceptual content, but the different degrees ofcontacting tourism can cause the most perceived content differences. The residents inthe study area can be divided into active supporters, contradiction and rationalsupporters.At the same time, I also give the reference countermeasures for the local tourism development from the the residents’ perception in order to realize thesustainable development of local tourism resources and harmonious tourismatmosphere.
