Design Of Contract Management For International Epc Project

After thirty years of development, China’s international project contract has achieved impressive results, the amount of recent annual turnover and new contract has reached the level of$100billion, which make the international engineering contract become one of the important aspects of China’s foreign economic cooperation, and also China’s international engineering contractor grows up rapidly, their technical ability and level of management rise with a unforgettable speed, more and more enterprises begin to contract international complex EPC projects. However, released from the ENR (Engineering News-Record), there is a great gap between our international engineering contractors and the world’s leading contractors, identified basing on the information of Top225national ranking and analysis of contractor, our contractor’s turnover and profits are significantly smaller than the world-famous contractors, especially in the profit area.Project management is a source of profit of project, and the management of contract is the core of management of project, and the management of claims is the core of management of contract. This paper details the international EPC management of management of contract and of claims. Firstly this paper feature from the international EPC projects and international EPC contracts, after analyzing the construction situations of some international EPC projects,which help to summary the main work needed to be done and some skills summarized before the signature of contract of EPC project and in the process of the accomplishment, also in the aspect of the management of contract. Then in function of the structure of contract of the project, this paper also suggest a series of proposed measures concerning the problems existed of management of contract EPC project; the last part of this paper, describes the major content and skills of the management of claims of EPC project, this paper also suggest a series of proposed measures concerning the problems existed of management of claims EPC project.Through the research of management of contract and claims of international EPC project, this paper aims to provide the reference for Chinese enterprises engaged in the large and complex management of contract and of claims of international EPC projects.
