Tourism is the perceptive process by the tourist during sightseeing of objects that aremostly tourist products provided by the management of tourism. Since thinking is man’smain difference from other animals, in tourism, through thinking, tourists produce anemotional appeal for tourist products and tourism management, through thinking, designtheir products. There is an elusive linkage between thinking and tourist products. But thereality is that tourism researchers now are generally concerned with concrete designs andplanning, paying little attention to the thinking process or thinking itself, while tourismperformers or practitioners, who make decisions and form judgments on the basis of theirown knowledge and work experience are too subjective to be scientific. So, in thecircumstances of creative economy becoming quite common now and tourist productsbadly in need of being updated, doing research on tourist products’ creative thinking chainis of urgent importance.Creative thinking chain research of tourist products is a whole new project. Noexistent research path can be followed. However, in management circle the concept“process reengineering” has been a favorite and its core idea is being used in variousfields. So, to form what is a new perspective and to make creative thinking chain oftourist products more systematic and scientific, this paper transplants the core concept ofprocess reengineering in management to creative thinking and its process. Built onprocess reengineering and creative thinking phases theory as well as other disciplines likepsychology and philosophy, the creative thinking chain of tourist products proposed bythis paper is a relatively complete concept, organic, scientific, workable and of guidanceto creative team and people in creative thinking activities of tourist products.This thesis has four parts. Part I is introduction, which includes the rationale for thetopic, research object and objective, literature review, research methodology and frame;Part II is a basic theory frame, focusing on process reengineering theory, creative thinkingand other related theories and putting forth creative thinking chain; Part III elaborates the three layers and nine phases of creative thinking chain of tourist products and their rolesand status in the chain with concrete cases; the last part is the conclusion of this researchand its deficiencies.
