Status Quo And Advancing Countermeasures Of Ecological Environmental Construction In The Rural And Ifshery Areas Of Zhoushan

The strong modern demands, intensive human activities and rapid structural growthand development of high material consumption and high pollution industries has excised acoercion influence over the ecological environment in the rural areas of ZhoushanArchipelago in the form of positive feedback.If the present unsustainable economic growth mode should be abandoned how tosmoothly transform Zhoushan’s rural economy and to take a green and sustainabledevelopment road has become very urgent. The ecological modernization theory provides apossibility for such a change. Its core idea is to take advantage of the local ecology topromote process of modernization, attaining a win-win situation of economic growth andenvironmental protection.This paper introduces the background of ecological modernization study, the purposeand significance of studying the development roadmap of ecological modernization inZhoushan rural areas, the related research status at home and abroad and the researchframework, contents as well as innovations of the thesis.The paper elaborates the connotation of ecological modernization theory from threeaspects(i.e. its formation background, development and main contents) and the details ofconstruction of island rural ecological modernization which includes necessity of islandrural ecological modernization, comparison between ecologically modernized andtraditional rural areas and development characteristics and principles of ecologicalmodernization in island rural areas.The green ecological development of Xinjian community in Ganlan township ofDinghai district, Zhoushan city, has been taken as a study case to probe the developmentroadmap of ecological modernization in the island rural area, which was once a poor andinaccessible village and has now realized a coordinated development of economicdevelopment and environmental protection by practicing the ecological modernizationtheory.The paper also analyzes the development status of ecological modernization in theisland rural areas and problems. There are two kinds of situation, i.e polluting theenvironment first and then treating it with a great price and emerging rural ecologicalmodernization mode droved by the green ecological concept. The problems include thechallenges faced by the rural ecological modernization and some deep-seated problems concerning ecological modernization in the island rural areas.At the end the paper puts forward four strategies to develop the island ruralecological modernization. They are: enhance the construction capacity of ecologicalmodernization in island rural areas with a basis of economic growth, give an impetus to theecological circular economy, according to practice and supported by technical research anddevelopment, step up efforts to improve habitat environment in line with the requirementsof coordinated development of urban and rural areas and standardize the construction orderof rural ecological modernization by establishing complete rules and regulations.
