Study On The Development Of The Theme Park Cluster

Along with the rapid growth of the global economy and the speedy development of tourism, tourists’demand increasingly diversification. As a new type of tourism attraction with ornamental, leisure, sports, entertainment and education function all together, the theme park has been trying to meet the changeable demand and choice of the tourists and became one of the trends of tourism development. The worldwide development of the theme park, which leads to form the new round of the theme park construction tide and many discuss of multi-disciplinary and multi-perspective.Orlando of the United States is known as the "Kingdom of theme park", attracts numerous visitors from all of the country with its world famous theme parks, vibrant outdoor entertainment. While Wuhu is willing to be the" Oriental Orlando", strive to construct a nationally representative theme park cluster. However, as a third grade city in the middle of China with non optimal tourism resources, it is a question that Wuhu whether can be able to get on the road of theme park cluster successfully. By adopting the inductive and deductive approaches, this dissertation proposes the fundamental theories of tourism cluster on the basis of summarizing both the domestic and abroad researches, taking Wuhu Fantawild theme park cluster and Shenzhen OCT theme park cluster,as the case study. Through the compare of them, discuss the feasibility of Wuhu theme park cluster and bring forward the new measures for the development of Wuhu theme park cluster combined with the practice.The paper is compose of six chapters. The first is introduction chapter, which introduced the topics of research background, significance, the idea of this paper and the research method. And first overviews the theoretical and practical researches of industrial cluster in and outside China. Then it follows to summarize the current researches and problems of tourism cluster and the theme park, on the basis of which, for the later analysis. Chapter Two interprets some concepts relevant to the theme park,the industrial cluster, the tourism cluster and the theme park cluster, to further clarify the scope of study and research contents. The next three chapters are the key part of the paper. First, points out the necessity and practical significance of the research of the theme park cluster, introduce identification and determination method of the theme park cluster and analysis the influence factors of theme park cluster, forming mechanism and development mode on the basis of diamond model as well. Then compares the theme park cluster between Wuhu Fantawild and Shenzhen OCT to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the development of Wuhu theme park cluster and then analysis the feasibility of Wuhu theme park cluster. Put forward some strategy and suggestion combine with the condition and the current situation of Wuhu theme park. The last chapter is the conclusion of the dissertation, summarizing the current research of its innovations and problems and predicting the future researches in prospect as well.The innovation of this research lies in that it is a tentative attempt to apply the theory of industrial cluster to the study of theme park, which used more on manufacturing industry and high technology industry. It analyzes systematically the factors and mechanism of the formation, development of theme park cluster. It offers a case study based on Compare of Wuhu Fantawild and Shenzhen OCT, explore the way of the development of Wuhu theme park cluster, and also provides with a theoretical framework and an operational procedures for the development of Chinese theme park clusters.
