Whether it isthe responsibility of a State’s response to global warming, or an urgent requirement tochange the mode of economic growth, the Chinese industry seems to have totransform.Where ought the China’s industrial economy exactly to go? The answer is subjectto the historial investigation, to be precise, is to figure out the past development pathof China’s industry. The Purpose of this paper is to provide an overview which depictsChina’s industrial transition from the perspective of economic performance.Actually, the typical characteristic in transition is the continuous and extensiveinstitutional change. The most important one is the change from the planned economyto market economy and also its associated economic reforms, and the most strikingone is called property rights reform whice started from1999.This article based on the theory of industrial organization, supplemented by thetheory of development economics and economic growth on the transformation ofChina’s industrial sector economic performance. The SCP paradigm is the basic framework of this study, and then I intergated theinstitutional factors into it and extended to I-SCP paradigm. The empirical anglysisexamines these two theoretical paradigms, and gets the statistial support. This article predicts that I-SCP framework can well analyze the industrial economicperformance of China’s transition, and the conclusion can provide some usefulsuggestions for the current industrial restructuring strategy.
