Elderly tourism market is a special tourism market. The elderly tourism market supply and demand are not balanced. Tourism potential has not yet fully developed. Therefore adopting a scientific development strategy is particularly important.This article based on the basic theory of Tourism on the market development, depends on some theory of tourism psychology, using the method of combining qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Do a relatively comprehensive study of the elderly tourism market of Taiyuan. The specific contents are as follows:First, this article defined the key concepts involved in this market, the tourism market and the elderly tourism market, and then expounded the theory of tourism demand. Secondly, this article analyzed of consumer psychology and consumer behavior of characteristics of elderly tourists. Then according to the relevant basic theory, it analyzed the necessity of elderly tourism market development and feasibility. And this paper discussed the status of the elderly tourism market development and the existence of the problems. The article focused on the part of elderly tourism market in Taiyuan City, and conducted a sample survey based on questionnaire data analysis, targeted elderly tourism market development in Taiyuan. These recommendations mainly included three aspects: governments community and tourism enterprises. In that part, this article discoursed how to develop the elderly tourism market of Taiyuan city.
