With the development of knowledge economy and global energy safety, it is important to enhance its core competence to acquire long-term competition advantage for domestic petroleum companies by knowledge management. Effective knowledge management system will enhance project management performance. Although more and more efforts have been put on theory research of tacit knowledge, intra-firm tacit knowledge transfer, factors that affect knowledge transfer had not been well recognized in project manangement activities of domestic oil&gas industry. In this situation, this paper investigates knowledge transfer and its affecting factors from project team of Chinese offshore petroleum industry perspective.Based on the existing theories and researches, this paper proposes a concept model of tacit knowledge transfer channel within project management team. The study summarizes affective factors of tacit knowledge transfer and summarizes two adjusting factors for the tacit knowledge transfer by analyzing CNOOC(China National Offshore Oil Company) performance of managing successful program. This Paper further made statistical research from186project team members as sample. The theory hypotheses of the concept model have been analyzed and validated through questionnaire, data collection, variable measurement, reliability and validity testing, multiple regression analysis and result discussions. Through theoretical analysis and quantitative empirical research, this paper suggests the following main conclusions:1) Tacit knowledge characters have negative effect on tacit knowledge transfer;2) Team study capability, team cooperation relationship and team study culture have significant positive impact on tacit knowledge transfer. Project priority and stability of project team members have significant correlation with knowledge transfer results.
