Online Game is a kind of network video game that uses the Internetto achieve interaction between the consumers of a Online Gameproduct. Traditional PC games are only had Client-side, but comparedwith the traditional OC games, Online Game must also have bothServer-side and Client-side, while the Client must be connected to theInternet Server, otherwise there are no games.Online Game is a modern leisure which is a fusion of history,literature, art, music and other elements. With the development of theInternet, Online Game, which is more popular than other pastime suchas movie and music, has become the most important pastime all overthe world. Online Game Industry in China has begun to take shape, andformed a relatively complete industrial chain. Now Online GameIndustry is the pillar industry in the Internet Economy of China, and hasplayed a catalytic role in China’s national economy.In this paper, firstly the Online Game is defined and classifiedexplicitly, and then the correlative research achievement at home andabroad is summarized, so that we can determine the research objectand scope based on these theories and status-quo. Second, afterexplaining the development status of China’s Online Game Industryand its development process, this article will conclude the industrycharacters and economic property of China’s Online Game Industry.Beginning with these characters and property, this paper will minutelyanalyze recent economy barrier to entry of China’s Online GameIndustry. This paper concludes that China’s economy barrier to entry islow in recent years, but the general trend of this barrier to entry will begetting higher in the future. At last this article will give suggestions to thefollow-up studies.
