Research On The Logistics Development Planning In Zhangdian District Of Zibo City

As one of the most closely related socio-economic activities to people’s life, logistics is an essential part of the national economy. Its level of development is an important measurement of the community’s modernization and overall strength.As the central district of Zibo City, Zhangdian District is a traditional resource-dependent industrial town as well as a modern business center. Due to the unique territorial advantage and well developed industries of Zhangdian, logistics in this area has experienced fast and sustained growth and has becomes the hub in the middle of Shandong Province ever since the Reform and Opening. In the21th century, however, with the deepening economic globalization and the extensive use of modern logistics, the territorial, industrial and resource advantage in Zhangdian is weakening. Meanwhile, the city is expanding rapidly and population is concentrating intensively. All these factors leads to the problem that logistics cannot sufficiently support the urban economic development, which badly impedes the improvement of the city’s comprehensive strength and competence. Based on such condition, we analyze the current condition and problems of logistics industry in Zhangdian, by studying the theory as well as examples of logistics all over the world. By using SWOT analysis, we also analyze the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities, and challenges of the industry. We propose both the objective and suggested measures for the development of logistics in Zhangdian.Through the strategic programming of logistics industry in Zhangdian, the goal of this project is to hoist its efficiency and to optimize its structure. We hope this project will also provide scientific references to economic development in Zhangdian as well as the development of logistics in other cities that face the similar problems.
