By expropriating land to realize the expansion of land for urban landscape is onemajor form of china’s urbanization. Since1990s, nearly1million farmers have lost theirland. These farmers not only lost the land but also had lost their way of living whichthey used to depend on. The author investigated a typical village called BAIJIAPU andfound their means of living hood. Combining with their survival conditions, the authorhas studied the livelihood problems of BAIJIAPU. Well, during the twenty years, howhad these peasants survived? What are their qualities of life? What are the deep reasonsthat resulted in they had chose such a way of living? The author has answered all thequestions in the context. It will be valuable about how to deal with the employmentproblem of peasants who lost their land. It will also provide some useful reference onhow to solve the social stability problems during the urbanization process.
