Vegetables are an essential and non-staple food in people’s lives, an important component ofChina’s agricultural production. Since the implementation of the "Vegetable Basket Project", China’svegetable industry has been considerable development, is the second largest crop farming after food.Vegetable production has also resulted in higher economic efficiency, in2009, China’s vegetable outputvalue of about880billion yuan.Development of vegetable production can meet the demand for urban and rural residents and toincrease farmers’ income.
